Stuttgart: victory at last!

Between July 1st and 3rd, 2026, in Stuttgart, eleven students led by Professor Casarsa took to the runway with SandoCan. Our carbon fiber aircraft — two meters long with a wingspan of nearly three meters — successfully carried a 3.85 kg payload at speeds exceeding 100 km/h, expertly piloted by Enrico Lo Greco.

On July 8th came the highly anticipated announcement: the University of Udine wins the 2026 Air Cargo Challenge! We edged out the Technical University of Munich by just 24 points out of a total of 1,402. This victory is the culmination of a years-long pursuit, following three consecutive runner-up finishes (2019, 2022, 2024). As per tradition, the winning team has the honor of hosting the next edition: the 2028 Air Cargo Challenge will take place right here in Udine.
