Students, engineers, flight enthusiasts

The AeroUD team is composed entirely of students from the Polytechnic Department of Engineering and Architecture at the University of Udine, united to design, build, and test competitive RC aircraft for international challenges.

Mechanical, industrial and management engineering students work side by side in a real pre-graduation testbed, turning academic theory into aircraft capable of dominating European skies.

Our Departments

Aerodynamics

Our Story

The ACC arrives in Udine.

As per tradition, the winning team organizes the next edition: the 2028 Air Cargo Challenge will be held in Udine, bringing the world's best aeronautical engineering universities to the Friuli region.

Stuttgart, the victory

Team AeroUD wins the 2026 Air Cargo Challenge in Stuttgart, following three consecutive runner-up finishes in 2019, 2022, and 2024. The SandoCan aircraft, piloted by Enrico Lo Greco, carries a 3.85 kg payload at speeds exceeding 100 km/h.

Aachen

In Aachen, AeroUD secures its third consecutive second-place finish, after three editions as the top Italian team, consolidating the technical expertise needed for the decisive challenge in Stuttgart.

Munich

The team returns to compete in Munich, confirming its international caliber. This marks the beginning of the placements that will lead, in subsequent editions, to the highest step of the podium.
