FB2
The FB2 was the response to a regulation change during the development of the aircraft. The team had designed the FB1, with a five-meter wingspan, based on the 2013 rules, and had flown it for the first time on July 13, 2014. Three months later, the 2015 regulations were released: a mandatory propeller, a smaller transport case, and an assembled aircraft that had to fit within a 2.5-meter square. The aircraft had to be redesigned.
The FB2 was operational by March 2015. It featured a 3,100 mm wingspan and an empty weight of 3.556 kg, making it 15% lighter and 10% faster than its prototype.
In Stuttgart, with Professor Casarsa at the controls, it successfully completed all five competition flights.
