SandoCan
SandoCan is the first AeroUD aircraft to win. In Stuttgart, in July 2026, it finished ahead of everyone by 24 points out of 1402: before it, the team had collected three fourth places, one third and three seconds in thirteen years of competitions.
The 2026 rules allowed two motors for the first time. The team simulated the twin-engine layout in CFD and dropped it: more thrust, but 4% less lift and 10% more drag. SandoCan has a single propeller, a 2.85-metre elliptical wing, a retractable undercarriage that folds into the wing, and an airfoil found in no catalogue — it was generated by an optimiser the team wrote in Python.
It weighs 2.6 kg empty and lifts 3.85 kg of payload.
